Live! The Silver Wilburys - Palomino
Club A two-hour in-house videotape captured this event was circulated among collectors for years. This incarnation of Traveling Wilburys consisted of Taj Mahal and the Graffiti Band (which featured longtime Beatle pal Jesse Ed Davis) sharing a double bill at the Palomino. By the end of the evening, they had been joined by George Harrison, Bob Dylan and John Fogerty. As far as the performance goes, it was probably enjoyed more by the men onstage than by the audience. However, with the right amount of liquor, anything can sound good... - Chip Madinger and Mark Easter "Eight Arms To Hold You" |

Bob Dylan 30th Anniversary Celebration
- Madison Square Garden George Harrison made his first US stage appearance in eighteen years before a sold-out crowd of 18.000 at this Columbia Records-sponsored event to celebrate the anniversary of Bob Dylan's signing to the label in 1962. The concert, which was initially telecast as a pay-per-view event, was fairly shambolic, with some good performances (Chrissie Hynde, Eric Clapton, and George) and some embarrassing ones (Sinead O'Connor and Dylan himself - in late November or early December, he re-recorded his vocal on 'My Back Pages' for the commercial release). Rehearsals took place over three days (October 12th-14th, 1992) at S.I.R. studios, with an additional two days rehearsal at the Garden itself. In addition, a dress rehearsal was held the afternoon of the performance. Present at the rehearsals were George, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Tom Petty, Roger McGuinn, Steve Cropper, Jim Keltner, Donald "Duck" Dunn, Neil Young, and musical director G.E. Smith. - Chip Madinger and Mark Easter "Eight Arms To Hold You" |
